April 15 is National Officials Day
As part of the “Year of Sport” and “National Volunteers Week”, April 15 is the third annual National Officials Day in Canada.
Synchro Canada wishes to recognize and thank the hundreds of volunteers who give so freely and passionately of their time each year to further the interests of our wonderful sport.
There are over 250,000 Canadian technical officials who help to keep sport running in this country. Over 500 of them are involved in the sport of synchronized swimming.
These “keepers of the game” are passionate about their role in Sport - to ensure fair play and safety for all participants. In our sport, officials are volunteers – giving up their evenings, weekends and family time to do something that they love. They spend years training – keeping abreast of yearly rule changes and advances in the sport. It is their dedication and passion for what they do which makes them an essential service to our sport system.
Synchro Canada encourages all Canadians to take time today to acknowledge the men and women who referee, judge and umpire our sports and to recognize their efforts and the tremendous impact they have on sport in this country. Take a moment to say “thanks”.
