| Synchro Canada names Elena Podolsky head coach of the Canadian national 13-15 team |

Elena Podolsky will guide the squad in a one-month training camp which will precede the 2010 Comen Cup set for July 21-25 in Crete, Greece. The Canadian 13-15 members will be finalized after the Canadian Espoir Championships June 2-6 in Montreal. Elena Podolsky, currently a coach with the Etobicoke Olympium team, was the national 13-15 team head coach in 2007 and the assistant coach in 2005 and 2009. "Synchro Canada chose Elena Podolsky for her vast experience in preparing teams for big competitions, including the national 13-15 team for the past two years. In addition she was selected for her leadership, philosophy and her vast knowledge of the sport," said Catherine Gosselin-Després, Synchro Canada’s Chief Operating Officer. "The goal is always to improve the national team performances at events such as the Comen Cup," said Gosselin-Després. "Elena has shown throughout her career that she has the experience and necessary skills to once again bring this team to the top." Over the next few weeks, Elena Podolsky and Synchro Canada will finalise the coaching staff. At the 2009 Comen Cup, Canada won the bronze medal in the team competition.
Elena Podolsky Elena Podolsky is currently completing her level 4 National Coaching Certification Program. In Canada she worked with the national team in preparation for the 2004 Olympics. She was head coach of the national junior team which won two medals at the 2008 FINA World Junior Championships and an assistant coach with the junior squad in 2004 and 2006. She was also head coach of the national 13-15 team in 2007 and an assistant coach in 2005 and 2009. She was also head coach of Ontario’s synchronized swimming team at the 2003 and 2007 Canada Games.
