Boudreau-Gagnon, the world championship medallist in the event, finished ahead of Huang Xuechen of China and her compatriot Shi Xin. Mary Killman of the U.S., was fourth. "It was a very close competition and nine of the 12 judges were from China, so I was very pleased to get the victory,’’ said Boudreau-Gagnon, 27, the solo free program winner on Saturday. Boudreau-Gagnon competed to the same music that she used at the worlds in Rome last summer however with new requirements for the technical events this year she’s made several changes. "I feel I’ve done a very good job adapting to the new technical requirements,’’ she said. ‘’I would like to also increase the complexity of my choreography for this program and build on that for the World Cup (September 16-19).’’ Boudreau-Gagnon was Canada's only entry at the competition.
