Communicating the vision - June 2010

Dear Synchro Community,

After recently attending the Canadian Open Championships, I wanted to share with you how proud I am of the work this community has done. The athletes have trained hard. This was evident in the pool as the competition was fierce. Our coaches have risen to the challenge of combining athleticism with artistry and technically well executed routines. The organizing committees continue to host amazing competitions and offer first class hospitality. Our volunteers are extremely dedicated and passionate. We are a very lucky organization.

It is now easy for me to visualize the future of Synchro Canada from 2012 to 2020. We will continue to have enhanced collaboration and communication that embraces all Synchro Canada Programs and reaches out our 12,000 members as we continue to work together and share our stories. Synchro Canada will continue to strive for sustainable growth and development over the next few years.

I am also confident that, with all of our collective efforts with our members and partners, Synchro Canada will continue to produce international podium results that we have seemed to enjoy this past year.

To all athletes that made the 2010 Junior National Team which will represent Canada at the 2010 FINA World Junior Championships, I send you my sincere congratulations. I know each of you will work hard this year to represent your country in Indianapolis this August. Enjoy your journey and may you make new friends as you continue to grow and develop as young athletes and leaders of tomorrow. Remember: this truly is the ultimate female team sport!

I look forward to attending the Canadian Espoir Championships this week in Montreal. I know each of you have put many hours into your preparation leading up to the competition. You are already amongst the best-synchronized swimmers in your tiers in this country. Stay focused on your outcomes and keep a positive attitude. Not only will you be successful in achieving your personal goals in the competition but also in your life journey.

Your Board of Directors is working hard to serve you as we further develop our governance roles. Should you have any ideas or suggestions we are always open to them.

Thank you for everyone’s great work and attitude as Thomas Jefferson says:

"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude."
