Sept. 15-Postcard from the National Team at the 2010 World Cup
September 15, 2010
Our adventure started first at our training camp in Malaysia on the island of Penang. After a long travelling day of almost 24 hours we arrived at our new home for the next two weeks, the Berjaya Hotel. The hotel was close to a fabulous shopping center full of all our needs and even more.

The people in Penang were always ready to help us and to do everything they could so we could feel really welcome and comfortable. The pool was close to the hotel and filled the criteria to allow us to train in the best conditions. The pool was located along a beautiful beach.

Our training was between 7 am and 1:30 pm, a normal schedule for us. We progressed a lot during our camp and then, we left for Malaysia ready and confident for the competition. The training camp was a success and we are now stronger and more determined than ever. We were on the road to China, and we were ready to “rock the house”!

When we finally arrived at our destination, we could already feel our excitement and our determination for the following competition days. Our hotel, more fabulous than ever, is located 10 minutes by foot from the pool.  It is part of the Olympic Park Sports Center. There are two outdoor pools, two swimming pools and one diving tank. The organisation of this competition is so far very structured.

Our first official training day was September 13 and it went very well. We confirmed again that we were ready and in a good position to have a fantastic competition. Our coaches were very satisfied of our performances and we finished our first day entirely satisfied and ready for the second day of training.

Our second day of training started with a little morning walk to the pool.  We saw this morning that pedestrians don’t seem to have priority in the streets and, as there are no traffic lights, Team Canada was greeted by a lot of honking when we crossed the street!

This didn't affect our good mood when we arrived at the pool, our team once again accomplished our work and presented champion performances. We left the pool satisfied and really excited for the last day of training which will bring us closer to the competition.
