 Two members of the Canadian Synchronized Swimming National Team will share their knowledge, talent and passion with 110 rising star athletes from Saskatchewan, November 12-14, at the Shaw Center in Saskatoon (122 Bowlt Cres).
This visit is organized in conjunction with Synchro Saskatchewan « Whole Athlete » Development Camp and the Marnie Eistetter Figures Meet which will be held at the same place.
Friday night, November 12, Karine Thomas and Erin Willson will first meet the 10-athlete team who will represent Saskatchewan in synchronized swimming at the 2011 Canada Games, which will be held February 11-27, 2011, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Saturday, November 13, from 10 am to 1 pm, the athletes from Synchro Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Montreal, Quebec, will share their knowledge with the « Whole Athlete » Development Camp participants. They will then take part, from 1 to 2 pm, in a watershow with the 2011 Saskatchewan Canada Games Team, followed by a clinic where Karine and Erin will join the 2011 Saskatchewan Canada Games Team to teach a portion of their routine to the participants.
Then, starting at 5:30 pm, Karine and Erin will attend the Synchro Saskatchewan Annual Awards Banquet where they will hand out some awards and give a motivational speech to all of the coaches and athletes. The banquet will be held at the Bethlehem High School cafeteria connected to the Shaw Center.
Karine Thomas
Member of the Senior National Team since Fall 2006, Karine Thomas won a bronze medal in the combo event at the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships. Born in Gatineau, QC, she was also part of the winning Canadian Team at the 2009 FINA World Trophy and the team that took the 6th place in the free and technical team events at the 2007 FINA World Aquatic Championships.
Erin Willson
Born in Toronto, ON, Erin Willson has been a Senior National Team member since the Fall of 2007. She won two bronze medals in the team and combo events at the 2010 FINA World Cup. She was also part of the winning Canadian Team at the 2009 FINA World Trophy and the team that took 4th place in the technical team event at the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships.
