- UPDATE: 2011 Athlete Council Election
Synchro Canada has decided to extend the deadline for nominations for the 2011 Athlete Council to encourage more members to nominate athletes for the positions available. The new deadline is February 27th, 2011. Given the extended deadline, the provincial championship elections will be cancelled and the elections will instead take place at each Divisional Championship in March. Apply now!

Synchro Canada is pleased to announce that the 2010-2011 Club Excellence Program is now available for clubs to access online. The application deadline for the Club Excellence Program is February 25th, 2011. All of the information is available in the Club Excellence Program section of our Website.

You have until Wednesday, February 23 at 5 pm (Eastern time), to send the name, a picture and an explanation of a person that you think must be the March Canadian Synchronized Swimming Community Member of the Month. To do so, please send it to

- CTV Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Vancouver 2010
CTV has produced two original programs celebrating Vancouver 2010 and Canada’s Olympians: VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, and the documentary 17 DAYS. The programs air this weekend to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the Olympic Winter Games. More details .

- Stronger Influence of Olympic Movement Displayed in 'Power 50' List
The widespread influence of Canada's surging Olympic Movement is illustrated in The Globe and Mail's "Power 50" list. Alongside eight current athletes are influential members of several Canadian Olympic Team partners, and three individuals closely tied to Canada's potential success at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Leading the Olympic executives on the Power of 50 list is COC President Marcel Aubut, who has raised the profile of the organization since taking office in April 2010, building on the Olympic momentum flowing from Vancouver 2010. Joining him on the list is Canada's 2012 Chef de Mission Mark Tewksbury, who will lead and support the Canadian Olympic Team at the London Games, and Alex Baumann, the swimming icon who returned to Canada in 2007 to lead the COC's summer sport development – and who is now chief executive director of Own the Podium.
