- Call for Nominations for Synchro Canada’s Development Teams
Synchro Canada has been restructuring its operational committees in order to better reflect the current organizations’ operations and align the overall system to meet needs of our business but also to increase the overall effectiveness in achieving the Domestic Core Business Area of the Strategic Plan 2008-2016 performance benchmarks.
The current committees will be dissolved and be replaced with the below Development Teams that will support the staff in the Domestic Area of our organization. Those Teams are advisory committees accountable to the Lead Staff assigned to each of them:
1- Coach Development Team
2- Domestic Development Team
3- Athlete Development Team (new team)
Synchro Canada is looking to recruit 15 keen individuals from across the nation to fill various positions on the three Development. Please send in your nominations no later than Monday, March 14th, 2011. More details and application form.
- Coaches Certification at Nationals Championships
Please note that no fines will be applied to coaches at the 2011 Canadian Espoir and Open Championships for not having their Level 3 certification. Synchro Canada is still in transition with the new Competition Development context and will redefine the requirements for these Championships in the next season.
- New Synchro Canada Scoring Program Training Sessions
In the fall of 2010, Synchro Canada set the objective for training the community on the new Synchro Canada Scoring Program that was introduced in December 2010 for the 2010– 2011 season. In order to better prepare the community for this new challenge, Synchro Canada is conducting two training sessions for all members who are interested in learning the scoring program: at the 2011 Eastern/Atlantic and at the Western Divisionals Championships. - 3 mark system training sessions
The new three-mark system recently implemented by FINA was identified as a major area of concern. In order to better prepare officials for this new challenge, the OMT is conducting two seminars for all provincial and national level officials (Level 1–Level 5) at the Eastern/Atlantic and Western Divisionals. - Job opportunity at Synchro Canada
Synchro Canada is now looking for a Finance & Administrative Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for providing financial and general administration services to Synchro Canada and office staff on a daily basis. Responsibilities of the position include: assisting technical staff in administrative matters, website management, assisting with meetings, making travel arrangements, assisting with reports and publications, and handling special projects. Deadline for application is March 13. More details.
- Updated Canadian Anti-Doping Rules Now in Effect
An updated version of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) came into effect. These rules govern how anti-doping is conducted in Canada and are administered by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) on behalf of the Canadian sport community. More details.

- COC Opens Search for International Olympic Academy Young Participants
The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is looking to send two Canadians between the ages of 20-35 to Olympia, Greece to experience the annual Young Participants Session at the International Olympic Academy (IOA). This year, interested Canadians must enter through an online application that illustrates their sport leadership, passion for the Olympic Movement and their online social influence. More details.
