Synchro Canada partners with Plan Canada to promote Plan Canada‘s Because I Am A Girl initiative
 Ottawa, April 19, 2011 – Synchro Canada is pleased to officially announce its partnership with Plan Canada to raise awareness of the Because I am a Girl initiative.Because I am a Girl, launched in 2009, is a global movement for social change that invests in girls to help eliminate global poverty and claim a brighter, safer future for girls in the developing world. Plan knows that by investing in girls we can support a generation of empowered women, mothers, workers and leaders who will improve the lives of everyone around them and lift entire nations out of poverty. Synchro Canada and Plan Canada will collaborate to raise awareness and promote each other in various communication channels. Synchro Canada will add the Because I am a Girl logo on its National Team Apparel, specifically the official training jacket worn by all National Team Members. The partnership will also provide logo visibility on domestic event signage, the national website and social media channels Twitter and Facebook. National Team members will also be participating at Because I Am A Girl events. “The goal of the Because I am a Girl initiative is a natural fit for Synchro Canada’s programs because of our roots, our historical influence at the international level and the role of women in our sport at all levels,’’ said Synchro Canada’s CEO Catherine Gosselin-Després. ‘’Our sport not only aims to put athletes on the podium, but it is also a school of life where the athletes learn to persevere, and to work as a team and tirelessly in order to attain their goals.
