This event will be held during the 2011 U.A.N.A. Pan American Synchronized Swimming Championships
Montreal, August 10, 2011 – Synchro Canada’s Senior National Team, recent bronze medallists in the combo event at the 2011 FINA World Aquatic Championships in Shanghai, will perform some of their exciting routines Sunday, August 21, starting at 9:40 am at the Olympic Park Sports Centre, in Montreal.
The 2011 World Championship performances will be presented during the 2011 U.A.N.A. Pan American Synchronized Swimming Championships which will be held August 18-21 at the Olympic Park Sports Centre.
This will probably be the last opportunity to see the Canadian Senior National Team in a live performance before the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Here is the schedule of their performance Sunday, August 21:
8:55 am: 2011 UANA Pan American Team Finals for the 12 & under and 13-15 age groups
9:40 am: Presentation of the Canadian 2011 World Championship Free Duet
Marie-Pier Boudreau-Gagnon and Élise Marcotte will present their free duet swam to songs by Metallica.
10:15 am: Presentation of the Canadian 2011 World Championship Free Combo
The Canadian Senior National Team will present their free combo routine, a brand new routine swam to songs by the group Queen. At the 2011 FINA World Aquatic Championships, the Canadian Team won the bronze medal in the combo event with this routine.
10:22 am: 2011 UANA Pan American Team Finals for the Junior age group
Synchro Canada’s 2011 Junior National Team will take part in this event.
11:52 am: Presentation of the Canadian 2011 World Championship Free Team
The Canadian Senior National Team members are: Geneviève Bélanger (Laval, QC), Marie-Pier Boudreau-Gagnon (Rivière-du-Loup, QC), Gabrielle Cardinal (Saint-Lambert, QC), Stéphanie Durocher (Repentigny, QC), Jo-Annie Fortin (Montréal, QC), Chloé Isaac (Brossard, QC), Stéphanie Leclair (Gatineau, QC), Tracy Little (Pointe-Claire, QC), Élise Marcotte (L’Ancienne-Lorette, QC), Karine Thomas (Gatineau, QC), Valérie Welsh (Saint-Nicolas, QC) and Erin Willson (Toronto, ON).
Julie Sauvé, Anastassia Goutseva, Meng Chen and Lyne Piché were the coaches accompanying the Canadian Team at the 2011 FINA World Aquatic Championships.
