Please find below important news from Synchro Canada:
- Six months to London
We are six months away of the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London which will start July 27. Check out the first video of a series from the Senior National Team members explaining what comes to their mind when they think of the Games.
- Dates of Synchro Canada’s 2012 Convention
Please note that Synchro Canada’s 2012 Convention will be held October 12-14, 2012. The event will be hosted by Synchro Manitoba at the Hilton Suites in Winnipeg.
- ERRATUM: 2011-2012 Club Excellence Program
Please note there is an error in the Parent and Volunteer Development checklists. Under “Additional”, it should state "point one (0.1)" per educational workshop and not “one point”. The new and corrected form is on the Website. Please accept our apologies. Deadline for application is February 24, 2012. Download the documents including an overview of this year’s program and different checklists.
- NCCP Certifications for Synchro Canada's competitions
Please note that the eligibility rule for Divisionals will be the same for the 2012 Canadian Open and Espoir Championships as Synchro Canada is still in transition with the new coaching contexts. All coaches at Divisionals must be fully certified Level 2 or Competition-Introduction Synchro Coach in the new NCCP. If a coach does not meet this requirement, a fine of $100 is payable before the event begins.
- 2012 Canadian Masters Championships

- New logos for Synchro Canada’s National Championships
Wednesday, February 1st, at 1:30 pm, Synchro Canada will unveil the new logos for its Nationals that will be used for the Canadian Open, Espoir and Masters Championships. Those logos will be used for every competition as we will change the year and the location. Check out Facebook and Twitter, Wednesday, February 1st, at 1:30 pm, to get a look at these!
- Job opportunity at Synchro Canada
Synchro Canada invites high performance coaches (NCCP Level 3-4-5 or equivalent) with proven international coaching success to apply for the position of National Team Assistant Coach at the Center of Excellence located in Montréal. This is a full time position and a maternity leave replacement contract that should commence early February 2012 and end in September 2012. Deadline for application is January 31st, 2012. - 2012 International Bids Competitions
Check out the revised Synchro Canada International Competition Bid Policy and Procedures as the 2012 International Bid Calendar. Remember that you need to fill out an International Bid Submission Form on the International Bid Competition page to apply to take part in a competition outside of Canada. Download the documents now.
- Own the Podium Names Anne Merklinger New Chief Executive Officer
Anne Merklinger, whose impressive career in high-performance sport spans more than four decades as an athlete and leader, has been named to a key leadership position for high-performance sport in Canada as the chief executive officer of Own the Podium, chairman John Furlong announced Thursday on behalf of the organization’s Board of Directors. Kitchener-Waterloo Club
Synchro Canada's Senior National Team coach Meng Chen visited the Kitchener-Waterloo club January 14-15. During her stay, she worked with every competitive and pre-competitive athlete and respective coaches. Meng Chen also took part in a photo and autograph session. The Kitchener-Waterloo club paid this entire trip with the money raised during a watershow before Christmas. Check out pictures of Meng Chen visit.
