Toronto, June 4, 2012 – Canada’s national senior synchronized swimming team for the 2012 Olympic Games officially unveiled today in Toronto its theme and music for its brand new technical team routine prepared for this summer in London. The 2012 Olympic Games technical routine of two minutes and 50 seconds presented August 9 at 3 p.m. will have a soccer theme ‘’Soccer – or football – is a religion in England. There’s no doubt that it is a routine that will excite the crowd and consequently influence the judges,’’ said Canadian national senior team coach, Julie Sauvé. ‘’Spectators will see in the program references to movements in the sport done in the water. They will also find references in the swimsuit. It’s a routine that is fun to swim and I’m convinced the crowd and judges will love it just as much.’’ In the soundtrack, there’ll be references to the crowd and announcers as well as the big bands entertaining the American football stadiums. The eight countries competing in the team event are Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, Spain, Britain, Japan and Russia. Each will present two routines: the technical team (August 9) and the free team (August 10). The cumulative score from both events will determine the final standing. The theme and music for the technical duet (Zipper) and free (The Jester) were presented Saturday May 12 in Calgary. The free team routine (Circus) was unveiled on May 30 in Montreal.
