Born in Beaconsfield, Camille Bowness lived in Sydney, Australia, from 1997 to 2001 where she swam competitively. Upon her return to Montreal in 2001, Camille was introduced to synchronized swimming at her local summer pool. She immediately fell in love with the sport which allowed her to combine her artistic interests and strong aquatic skills. At the age of 12, she was selected to compete in the elite program at Dollard Synchro. Since the age of 14 she has been a member of the Canadian National Team Program.
Camille loves the physical challenge and intensive training, as well as the support of dedicated team mates that help push one another past limits they never thought attainable.
One of her fondest memories to date was the 2007 Canada Games held in Whitehorse where she won 3 gold medals. The Canada Games were her first multi-disciplinary games and were a phenomenal experience against the beautiful backdrop of northern Canada. Another favorite memory was her experience on the 2007 national junior team where she competed at the U.S. Open in Hawaii. With an amazing team spirit Camille returned home from this competition with 2 gold medals and 9 close friends.
Camille graduated from Pure and Applied Sciences at Dawson College in May 2011. She is currently studying Physics at McGill University. Her long term goal is to participate within the Canadian Space Program.
Camille competed at the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships where she won the bronze medal in the Combo routine with her team mates.
