Janelle Ball got familiarized with synchronized swimming during the summer of 2000 where her local summer pool was offering all four aquatic sports. After she experimented with all of them, she picked synchronized swimming. She says she likes this sport for the artistic aspect.

Janelle Ball was selected for the Senior National Team in the Fall of 2011. Her participation at the 2012 Spain Open is still one of her best memories so far, where she won a gold medal in the team event with the Quebec team at the 2011 Canada Games.

She has two brothers and one sister. Two of them are playing waterpolo at a competitive level.

She is studying Social Sciences at John Abbott College and she is thinking about becoming a teacher.
