July 3, 2009 OTTAWA - Canada continued to earn much praise Friday at the Swiss Open as the
Combo earned the team first place marks.
Canada finished with 93.500, putting them well ahead of the Swiss Club team
Limmat Nixen Zürich who finished with 84.500 and Aqua Synchro Geneve who was
third with a score of 76.167.
Canada swam extremely well and its routine, with a theme of dancing in the streets,
was much appreciated by the Swiss crowd.
"This was definitely their best performance of the year," said Canadian head coach
Denise Sauve. "The public and the judges loved the performance, we are so proud of
the team."
Yesterday Canada finished first in the Team Tech event with a score of 93.167.
Canada’s National ‘A’ Team trains in Montreal, QC at the Centre of Excellence.
Canada wraps-up the Swiss Open tomorrow with the Team Free final.
In addition to Canada and Switzerland the competition also features teams from
China, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Monaco as well as Swiss Club teams.
